Window Extras…That Come Standard!

The collection of replacement windows at Southside is one of the biggest in Triad. We have hard to find sizes in stock, and the windows come standard with many features that other stores charge you for. Here’s what you can expect:

How a Low-E window works.

Low-E Glass. Low-E (low emissivity) means that the window is coated with an invisible layer of metallic oxide that protects your home from UV rays. This reduces fading of your furniture and rugs. The Low-e coating also helps to keep your house cooler in the summer months, but warmer in the winter.

DP-50. DP stands for “design pressure” – a rating given that represents a windows ability to withstand a given amount of wind. DP-50 is required on all coastal and mountain homes due to the frequent high winds in the area. This feature comes standard on all of our in stock Moss windows as an extra bonus to not only protect you from the cold and wind.

Tilt. Gone are the days when you had to drag a ladder around to every window when it was time for spring cleaning. Our windows tilt in, so that you can easily wash the outside surface.

Head Jamb Expander. When you are replacing an old window, chances are everything isn’t going to be exactly square. Eliminate any gap between the top of the window and your rough window opening with a head expander, which slides over the top of the window.

Seal Angle. Older wooden windows often have an angle at the bottom seal. Since replacement windows have a square edge, you may need a seal angle to cover the resulting gap. The piece snaps in to cover that gap. It covers any shape difference between the old window and the new.

Vent Locks. A vent lock helps you open your window slightly to allow in fresh air, but prevents it from opening all the way.

We love helping our customers save money. Don’t pay for features that you can get standard on the windows at Southside. With every window, you’ll save money, making Southside the clear choice for replacement windows!
